From the beginning of the year 2021 to 2023 I will work together with researchers and biological field stations in Åland Islands. Supported by the Kone Foundation, I aim to use my artistic and scientific work to explore Åland's colour palette and scientific stone lithographs. I am fascinated by the history of graphics and how it is aimed at sharing pictorial information. The focus in this public artwork is the submarine nature of Åland Islands. I want to draw attention how important some species are for the ecosystem, working as a rainforest in Baltic Sea; hosting innumerable species of fish and invertebrates, binding carbon and nutrients and producing oxygen.   In the North global and local changes have environmental, cultural and social consequences. It is challenging to find sustainable solutions, as the changes are multilayered and not easy to understand.
